Sobre este episodio

The Parashá Tazria-Metsorá addresses the laws of ritual purity and impurity closely related to childbirth, the spiritual affliction known as tzaraat, ritual purification, and both physical and spiritual holiness. It emphasizes that “impurity” is not sin but rather the absence of Light, and that tzaraat is connected to lashón hará (malicious speech) and the ego. Furthermore, it highlights that even blemishes appearing on houses and garments symbolize the need to release sparks of light trapped within matter. The purification process involving cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet wool teaches a spiritual balance between pride and humility. In essence, the parashá serves as a guide for inner transformation and responsibility regarding one's words, opening pathways to restoration and spiritual light from conditions of separation and darkness. First Aliyah (Vayikrá 12:1–13:23) The section begins with the law concerning a woman after childbirth. Although birth is a miracle and a sacred gift, it involves a period of tumá (ritual impurity) in order to align with kedushá. The term Tazría (“to sow”) suggests a spiritual metaphor of planting and bearing fruit within one's inner life. Circumcision on the eighth day marks the child's introduction into the spiritual covenant with Abraham. The text then introduces tzaraat, an affliction with a spiritual root, which must be carefully examined by the Cohen. He must discern with patience and wisdom, for a proper diagnosis is connected to justice and introspection rather than quick judgments.
