## Sobre este episodio

In this episode of Shakipedia, we’re diving into one of the most controversial singles of the She Wolf era: “Give It Up to Me.” We break down the last-minute U.S. release chaos, the label politics that reshaped She Wolf, and why this Timbaland–Lil Wayne collab feels more like an industry experiment than a true Shakira song. From wandering CD stores on release day 🫠 to the song’s modest chart run, we unpack how Epic Records’ desperation for a U.S. radio hit led to one of the strangest single choices in Shakira’s career. We also talk about: Why this track sounds more like Timbaland ft. Shakira The Lil Wayne verse… and why it makes us deeply uncomfortable The stepping choreography, Senju Kannon imagery, and the very confusing video choices Fan reactions, Shakira.com polls, and why “Men in This Town” and “Mon Amour” were ignored Whether this song tells us more about 2009 pop trends than Shakira herself Plus, we get into live performances that didn’t feel very Shaki, favorite (and least favorite) lyrics, and rate the song using our She Wolf appetites scale 🐺Shakifans, this one is messy — but culturally fascinating.¿Fue un error? ¿Un experimento? ¿O simplemente producto de la industria?🎧 Listen now and tell us what you think.
