Pionero en "la obra terminada"... Bibliografía: Finished Work Controversy DAVID A. REED The Finished Work Controversy sparked the first schism in the early Pentecostal revival. It was a direct challenge to the doctrine of entire sanctification commonly held by Pentecostals since their inception in 1901 and taught by their founding patriarchs, Charles Parham (1873–1929) and William Seymour (1870–1922). Inherited from Wesleyan Holiness roots, entire sanctification is the belief that a second act of grace by the Holy Spirit eradicates all sin in the believer’s life, including the “inbred root” or inclination to sin. The Finished Work Controversy challenged the two fundamental premises of this doctrine—that there is a second act of grace and that it eradicates the very desire to sin, which thereby renders the believer sinless.
