When Religion Meets Rebirth

We kicked off our new series Salvation Stories with one of the most powerful conversations in Scripture — Jesus and Nicodemus in John 3. Nicodemus was educated, respected, and deeply religious. Yet Jesus tells him, “You must be born again.” In this message, I unpack the difference between religion and rebirth — between studying Jesus and surrendering to Him. It’s possible to master Scripture and still miss the Savior. It’s possible to be spiritually informed but spiritually unchanged. Salvation isn’t admiration — it’s abandonment. It’s not dissecting truth. It’s depending on it. You don’t need better arguments. You need new birth. The question is simple: Are you investigating Jesus… or have you entrusted yourself to Him?
