How I Build Apps with AI: From Idea to Launch

A year ago I was using ChatGPT to keep track of local businesses while I asked them to sponsor my son’s violin academy. Now I’m building 3 apps with AI. In this episode I walk you through how I do it: Start with planning. If you just say “build me a website,” you get AI slop. Treat AI like a partner. A smart one, but it doesn’t know what you want until you tell it. Turn the plan into a PRD (product requirements document). Build a proof of concept, keep features to a minimum, and get feedback early. Go high-fidelity with real design inspiration. Make a landing page and get a waitlist going before launch. Document everything in GitHub so you know what changed and what broke. My advice: pick one or two AI tools and stop there. If you have 20 subscriptions you’ll get less done, not more.
