The Mask
Sobre este episodio
🎙️ NEW EPISODE — “The Mask” 🎃 October continues on No Me Callo / I Won’t Stay Quiet. And if there’s one thing about masks, it’s that we don’t always wear them to deceive. 👀 Sometimes, we wear them to protect ourselves. To fit in. To avoid questions. Or to keep anyone from seeing what’s really going on. In this second episode of the series: 👻 “Monsters That Don’t Look Like Monsters” Jessica Lomelin talks about the masks we wear in our everyday lives, the relationships that look perfect from the outside, and how easy it can be to confuse what we see with what’s actually happening. The beautiful pictures, the smiles, the “we’re doing fine,” and the versions of our lives we choose to show the world. But there’s also something more complicated to consider: What happens when someone who causes harm has an excellent reputation? When the people around them see a completely different relationship than the one being experienced behind closed doors? And when someone feels they have to hide what they’re going through because they’re afraid no one will believe them? 💭 Because we don’t always know someone’s full story. And that doesn’t mean we get to make up the rest. Maybe the question isn’t just what someone is hiding behind their mask… Maybe we should also ask ourselves what we’re assuming simply because it’s all we can see. 🎭 Every Friday, a new conversation in Monsters That Don’t Look Like Monsters. Because sometimes, the hardest part isn’t seeing the mask. It’s remembering that it’s there. 🖤 📚 See the full No Me Callo / I Won’t Stay Quiet book l ist on Amazon 💌 Want to connect or share your story?
