## Sobre este episodio

I would like to start these "complete albums" sessions with a 70s project called Clearlight. In 1975, they released an album called “Symphony”. It had only two long suites on each side of the old vinyl, simply named as “First Movement” and “Second Movement”. Following the success of Mike Oldfield in 1973 with “Tubular Bells”, the Virgin label was really keen to release this kind of things, with a similar symphonic structure, but it wasn’t until 1975 that it took really place. Clearlight is the personal project of French pianist Cyrille Verdeaux, who was a outstanding member of the avant-garde French scene in the beginning of the 70s. He firstly recorded both tracks on piano but were later overdubbed with other instruments and musicians. It was quite natural that some of these musicians were also part of groups such as Lard Free, Babylone and Gong. Steve Hillage played here as well. I’m talking of the “First Movement”, which is more progressive and cosmic rock oriented. It was produced by Gong member Tim Blake. “Second movement” has a more romantic atmosphere, and it means of course a great blending exercise of space rock and free jazz, which proved the high academical level of Cyrille Verdeaux himself. Please enjoy in its entirety this masterpiece of Clearlight called “Symphony”. Extended Guitar Emotions in Rock music and beyond... One hour weekly with Gernot Dudda's Radio Show, playing and presenting Extended Guitar Experiences in Rock music and beyond, under the ironical name of "Marcianos que nos tocan las guitarras". For your listening pleasure! This tends to be a quality shelter for music lovers of the electric guitar that are fond of more expanded formats. Each program is varied and seeks a balance so that you always have a little bit of everything: symphonic rock, progressive, German krautrock, southern, psychedelia, blues rock, Spanish iberian and laietanos, guitar heroes, rock & experimental snipers, jazz-rock, Canterbury... So many things! Now I understand why genres were invented. Somebody had to give a little order to it all! This is not a playlist but a Radio Show in a classic and traditional way! You can listen to the usual Anglo-Saxon things as well as to contributions from countries like as Spain, Germany, France or Italy. Taking things even further, here you can even discover many interesting things coming from Unexpected Territories that also play rock.
