The AI Mega Wave: Agentic AI, Project Glasswing, and the Future of Cybersecurity In the latest episode of the #Cyber2ForAll podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Javier Rodriguez, #VicePresident of Product Management at Zscaler, about one of the biggest technological shifts of our time: the rise of #Agentic AI and what it means for the future of #cybersecurity. Here are some of the key takeaways from our conversation: 🔹 From chatbots to autonomous AI agents We are moving beyond AI assistants into the era of autonomous agents capable of analyzing, deploying, testing, and continuously improving systems with minimal human intervention. The business impact is already tangible. Javier shared examples where AI agents have outperformed highly specialized engineering teams, delivering measurable business value at unprecedented speed. At the same time, organizations are beginning to operate with hundreds of thousands of AI agents, dramatically expanding the attack surface that security teams must protect. 🔹 Project Glasswing: a new approach to secure software One of the highlights of the discussion was Project Glasswing, a strategic initiative involving Zscaler and Anthropic that leverages advanced AI models to identify software vulnerabilities. At its core is Mythos, an AI model designed to discover security flaws with remarkable effectiveness, demonstrating a significant leap in vulnerability detection compared with previous state-of-the-art models. Given its capabilities, the technology is currently available only to selected partners, enabling organizations to secure their software before similar AI-powered techniques become widely available to attackers. 🔹 Security at machine speed As AI accelerates everything, security must operate at the same pace. A key challenge will be managing machine identities: understanding who created an agent, what permissions it inherits, what data it can access, and whether it should be trusted to perform sensitive operations. 🔹 Looking ahead While post-quantum cryptography will play a crucial role in the evolution of cybersecurity, the real catalyst for transformation will continue to be Artificial Intelligence. As we move closer to Artificial General Intelligence, cybersecurity will need to evolve faster than ever, with systems increasingly capable of protecting themselves against machine-speed threats
