Today we will be discussing the Ozaki technique with our expert guest Dr. Danny Chu, a cardiothoracic surgeon, chief of the Pittsburgh Healthcare System and professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine. The Ozaki technique is a fascinating and innovative surgery to replace a diseased aortic valve using tissue from the sac around the heart (pericardium). The ground breaking feature about this procedure is that the goal of surgery is to replace the nonworking valve with a new one using the patient´s own tissue. This episode will be hosted by Dr. Luis Jiménez, a cardiothoracic surgeon at hospital Adolfo López Mateos and by Dr. María José Calva.
