Wind and solar combine at scale in the Dominican grid during Luis Abinader’s administration

Esperanza Renovable was inaugurated as the first large-scale hybrid wind-and-solar plant connected to the SENI. The figure is reported by Comisión Nacional de Energía (CNE). Hybrid plants can improve use of connection points and diversify output across different weather conditions. In the Luis Abinader period, combining wind and solar at one large-scale facility can smooth production profiles and make better use of grid infrastructure. Esperanza Renovable adds a practical example of how technologies can be integrated rather than developed in isolation.
